HOW TO BUY

1. CREATE A USER ACCOUNT/ LOG IN

You must create a user account if you are bidding on Quoniam for the first time.Please Click on the link in the start page “sing in/register” and fill in the boxes with the requested data.   The form will ask you to introduce an email and a passwordYour personal data has to be authentic and correct too.  Quoniam will unregister any untrusted or manipulated registered client; If is not your first time, you must log in with your email address and password.

 2.FIND AN SPECIFIC LOT

After logging in, select the required online auction in the “Auctions” menu, where you will see the online auctions that are currently active. Each auction comprises different lots, which close individually at a specific time and date that is counted down by a timer. Thus, you know exactly when the lot you are interested in closes without having to attend the entire auction if you don't want to.

Each lot is catalogued with sufficient graphic documentation to provide you with an accurate picture of the lot's characteristics and state of conservation. At QUONIAM, you also have the opportunity to check the pieces directly at our premises in Madrid, in Calle Andrés Mellado, 88. We recommend that you make an appointment beforehand.

On the web page of each lot up for auction, you have various options for sharing the lots with your friends, using either the social networking buttons or clicking the “Send to a friend” icon. You can also click “Add to wish list” to add the lot being auctioned to a specific wish list that you have created, or you can “Compare” various lots with one another.

3.BIDDING

Once you have selected and checked the lots, you are ready to enter a bid. You must do this in the “Auto bid to” box, which appears at the far right of the lot being auctioned and is registered under your name in the bidding history. If you wish to bid using a Nickname, you simply change this under “My options” in the “My auctions” menu or by clicking on your name directly on the page of the lot up for auction.


You can enter your bids at any time during the period of the auction. The bidding increments are defined below in the Table of bidding increments:

QUONIAM may set a reserve price in agreement with the seller, which may or may not coincide with the starting price of the item. This price is confidential. If your bid does not exceed the reserve price, the lot will not be sold. Once the reserve price  has been exceeded, or if the lot does not reserve price  the lot will be sold to the highest bidder.

If you cannot or do not wish to attend the auction until the end, you can use the AUTOMATIC BIDDING system, which consists of entering the maximum amount that you are prepared to pay for an item in the “Auto bid to” box. This amount is not visible to other users, but you can see the specified amount under “My activity” in the “My auctions” menu; the system will bid in your name using the amount necessary in accordance with the Table of bidding increments to keep you as the highest bidder until the amount you entered is reached. 


If there are two identical automatic bids and the piece is auctioned off at this amount, the item will be sold to the user who placed the automatic bid first.

4. PAYMENT

Congratulations, you have won your lot. You have to pay and collect your lot within a period of 7 working days from the date of the auction end.

 You can choose whichever of the following payment methods that best suits you:

 

  • Cash payment or payment by bank card directly at our premises in Madrid
  • Bank transfer to: BANCO POPULAR, Av. Castilla nº2, Parque Empresarial San Fernando – San Fernando de Henares (Madrid). IBAN: ES73 0075 1032 61 0600246084
  • Virtual payment with a card
  • PayPal

 

5. SHIPPING

As a winning bidder you are the ultimately responsible for shipping fees from Quoniam premises to the place chosen by you.

You can select your preferred mode of transportation:

 

  • Collect your lot directly at our premises in Madrid. We will send you an email advising you of the day on which you can come.
  • We send your lot wherever you want. The shipping cost can vary depending on the item, the place of delivery, its value and its physical characteristics.
